Common location on the dashboard or in the engine bay, but also multiple other locations. Vin needs to be present, legible, unaltered and undamaged

EPA LABEL

Label usually located in the engine compartment.  Pre-1966 passenger vehicles and Pre-1978 motorcycles exempt. If your vehicle is missing one, most dealerships provide an EPA label through their service department (fee may be applied). Contact your local dealership's service department.

Various locations.  If label is missing, a 2nd matching Vin number needs to be verified.  Pre-1970 and Off Highway Vehicles (OHV) vehicles are exempt
